“You don’t choose your family. They are God’s gift to you, as you are to them” – Desmond Tutu
Home is where the heart is. There has never been a happier time in my life than spending time with the family. I’ll admit, the first time I heard that saying which I used to begin this message, I pondered an d wondered about its accuracy and justification. However, the more I grow, the more this saying manifests itself inn HD.
I believe the greatest security to be found on earth is the shield and love of a family. No love on earth is greater than this. Why you ask? Well, because regardless of quarrels here and there, and the occasional times where some members might not see eye to eye with you or vice versa, no one understands you more than your family does. Especially in times where you need a lift from or battling through a horrid situation.
I believe the nature of a family setup is the probably the reason why its a strong unit. Right down from the grass roots up to your generation, there is that sense of unity, strength and togetherness. Factors which are undeniably essential to the growth of an individuals love and confidence. The moral upbringings and values where are seeded in the hearts of oldest members make it easier for anyone to gain that much needed comfort and confidence to face or rise up from life’s biggest lemons.
You won’t find a love that’s much greater than this other than Gods love. One thing I’ve also noticed is that when you come from a strong spiritual family, that love is embedded through Christ and His teachings. The church can also serve as your family in place of your naturally born family. This is because, with the church, they are taught the values and principles of accepting people who need assurance that someone is there for them. They accept these people, instill in them the Word of God and subsequently teach them how to accept others as well enrich their souls with the Word and put their faith & trust in God.
Family is instituted, bounded and gifted to you by God. Gods love is the greatest love in this world. A family’s love is modelled after Gods love. There is no substitute for both.
“Our family is a circle of strength and love…
With every birth and every union the circle grows…
Every joy shared adds more love…
Every crisis faced together
makes the circle grow stronger.”
